Addressing Depression Through Global and Local Education

The MDD Minds program aims to enhance the quality of care for major depressive disorders delivered by family doctors in Africa-Middle East, Asia and Latin America.

This initiative includes three phases: a self-paced online course - “MDD Minds 101”, a more in-depth Train-the-Trainer course, and a performance in practice initiative.

Family physicians from Peru gather on Zoom calls to learn the MDD Minds Master Faculty.

Dr. Christos Lionis, Chair of the WONCA Working Party on Mental Health and a member of the MDD Minds Steering Committee, presented the MDD Minds curriculum to family doctors in Tunis. Discussion among participants encouraged sharing of their personal experiences and the opportunities for growth.
